The Journey ...
From 1968 to 1972 I studied painting at the Slade School of Fine Art, University College London. After graduation, I worked in the field of visual communication while raising my family. At long last, in 2016, I had the opportunity of fulfilling my long-cherished dream of becoming a full time painter.
In 2019, I entered an art competition by Artists & Illustrators in London, where my painting “Sunday Brunch at Nicky's” was shortlisted and exhibited at The Mall Gallery in London. This juried show encouraged me to continue my painting journey.
My work is primarily representational. I enjoy depicting portraitures, landscapes, and still life. My preferred medium is oil on canvas.
Influential Masters:
Van Gogh: for the immense energy and enthusiasm
Da Vinci: for the tremendous intellectual capacity and inquisitiveness
Vermeer: for the ability to translate tranquillity on to canvas
As an artist, I am driven by the conviction that life continually unfolds inspiring places; places where timeless beauty abounds and offers serene peacefulness. There are no thoughts, no words, but just stillness. This space – between our finite physical world and what lies behind the scene – is what I explore in my work and wish to share with my viewers.
Von 1968 bis 1972 absolvierte ich ein klassisches Kunststudium an der Slade School of Fine Art, University College London.
Viele Jahre lang hatte ich wenig Zeit und Musse für meine Kunst. Erst im Jahr 2016 bot sich mir die Gelegenheit, meinen lang gehegten Traum zu leben, nämlich Kunstmaler zu sein.
2019 nahm ich an einem Kunstwettbewerb in London teil, bei dem mein Gemälde “Sunday Brunch at Nicky's“ angenommen und in der Mall Gallery in London ausgestellt wurde. Das hat mich ermutigt, meine Malreise fortzusetzen.
Ich sehe mich nicht nur als Kunstmaler, sondern auch als Geschichtenerzähler. Die Betrachter meiner Bilder möchte ich auf eine Reise mitnehmen, weg von ihren Gedanken, um sie in einen ursprünglichen, intrinsischen Bereich eintauchen zu lassen.
Ich bin ein traditioneller Maler mit figurativem Stil, male vorzugsweise Porträts, Landschaften und Stillleben. Mein bevorzugtes Medium ist Öl auf Leinwand.
Dies ist erst der Beginn meiner Reise als Künstler. Ich bin zuversichtlich, dass ich noch viel Interessantes tief in meinem Innern entdecken werde, das darauf wartet, gemalt zu werden. Darauf freue ich mich.
